Great Ocean Road

If you’re in Melbourne, the one thing you will definitely  have to see (and do) is The Great Ocean Road. The Great Ocean Road is a 243 kilo metre stretch of road along the south-eastern coast of Australia, between the Victorian cities of Torquay and Warrnambool. The road was built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932, and is the world's largest war memorial; dedicated to casualties of World War 1. It’s unlike any road I’ve ever been down before. I mean, yes, I’ve been on coastal roads before – but nothing quite as spectacular and breath-taking as this. It’s the kind of road which bends and winds, and as you turn each new corner there is something more beautiful to look at - rainforest, beaches, cliffs and the beautiful coastline.
